Taking Charge of your life is a five-week course (one session a week), providing you with techniques to help improve your confidence and self-esteem, meet new people, share experiences in a safe environment and to realize your true value.
Every day, people are faced with difficult circumstances; they battle with bereavement, poverty, mental health, childcare responsibilities, illness, lack of confidence, social isolation and learning barriers that prevent them from engaging in employment, education or just in general.
We want to bring hope to individuals to be able to look forward to the future and set achievable goals, giving them the vision to make positive changes in their lives.
The five sessions will cover the following:
Session 1: Effective Communication
We’ll look at how to connect with people, what to do when you don’t know what to say, how to use questions effectively and how to understand body language.
Session 2: Confidence Building
In this Session, we’ll examine where our lack of confidence originates. We’ll learn strategies that can help self-esteem and explore situations we find difficult to handle.
Session 3: Stress Management
Here we look at the causes of stress, what it is and what are the effects. We will identify your stressors and offer stress control techniques.
Session 4: Managing Change
We’ll look at types of change, coping with change that’s forced upon us. Strategies for effecting change ourselves and setting goals.
